Batting Stats is designed to allow you to track the batting statistics of an unlimited number of teams and players for a game, a season, or a career.Batting actions such as singles, doubles, strikeouts, ground outs, etc. can be defined in the action editor and each action can be individually configured for reporting. Default actions are provided during the initial installation . Additional user defined actions can be added if the default actions do not provide enough detail for your tracking purposes. Default actions can also be deleted or deactivated if you do not wish to use them.
Once teams and players are created you can create individual games to track the actions of each batter. As each batter appears at the plate you can select them from the player list and record the individual's at bat performance including any runs batted in (RBI) during their plate appearance. During the game you can also view the game history including color coded entries to represent outs and hits. As each batter is selected, the individual's in game batting average, hits, at bats, and RBIs are displayed.
In the 1.3 release you can now reorder players and import players from one team into another. This can be very helpful when creating select teams that are comprised of players from existing teams.
Once data has been collected for one or more games, reports can be generated. The reports include a player summary report, player detail report, and a team summary report. The summary reports include a batting average, on base percentage, hits, at bats, slugging percentage, and other additional columns that have been defined in the action list. Reports can include individual games or multiple games for each team. After a report is generated it can then be e-mailed. The e-mail includes an html copy of the report and a comma separated value (CSV) file including the report data that can loaded into a spreadsheet for further manipulation.
The application will be continually improved based on user feedback which can be submitted using the feedback button in the main menu.
